Bales Family Homestead, located at 14th Street and Walrond Avenue; The W portion of the Bales family homestead was built in 1834; This site was also the old home of the Johnson's; The Johnson's was Mrs Bales' mother's family in which the house having been built in 1825 and then torn down in 1890, Kansas City, MO Copper Plate, used in Sarah Chandler Coates' book, In Memoriam, Page 78.
