Kansas City, Missouri - Circa 1906 This is a photograph of Elm Ridge Race Track and Club House that opened for horse racing in April of 1904. The track was located one block East of the Paseo Boulevard, from 59th to 63rd Streets. Horse racing in the State of Missouri was outlawed by the State Legislature in 1906 and the track closed down. In 1912 the race track and club house was purchased by the newly formed Blue Hills Club Original image published in the book, "Historic Street Scenes of Kansas City, Missouri, 1867-1931," by Raymond S. Elder, featuring the Val B. Minton Photographics Collection, page 46.
