Early 1900s view of the Jackson County Fairgrounds, or Independence Fairgrounds Race Track. The Grand Stand was located along present-day Pope Street, near the northwest corner of Pope and Aberdeen Streets, Independence, Missouri. A hand drawn map of the area is included. This image of the empy Grand Stand appeared in the 19 May 1915 Independence Examiner, p. 2.
