Independence Fire Department Engine House

From collection General Photograph Collection

Independence Fire Department Engine House
Two-story building, with several men at doorway. According to Ron Yale, retired firefighter, the large brick building faced Osage between Maple and Lexington. The smaller building at the back and to the left was formerly a blacksmith shop down Crysler Ave. just before the tracks. It was brought to this location for a time and then removed once again to the lot at the corner of Main and Truman. It was placed on a brick foundation that allowed the fire department more space. See PHM1395.
