New York City Talent Agencies This file on NYC agencies was set up by Coleman-McLaughlin and contains correspondence with some agencies but mostly publicity materials sent out by a number of agencies. Those agencies are: KNS Associates, Inc. Represented the "Original" Ink Spots and Calypso Carnival Review. The file contains an 8/10/1970 letter to Jo Ann McLaughlin from Paul Kalet containing prices for Ink Spot performances as well as a number of publicity items. Al Perry Productions, Inc. File contains a letter from Mr. Perry with a list of the artists he represents dated 1/10/1962. Edward B. Shanley The file contains a 2/19/1960 letter from Mr. Shanley regarding plays and Irish theatre presented by the Irish Repertoire Theatre group. Ken Grayson Artist Representative Represented comedian Billy Kelly and the file contains a brochure regarding Mr. Kelly. There is also a letter from Marie Grant Younger to Jo Ann McLaughlin who was working for Mr. Grayson but used to perform as part of the Grant Family and knew Jo Ann from that time. Jo Ann's letter in response to Mr. Younger is dated 12/4/1961. Johnnie Martinelli Attractions (JMA) JMA represents a number of acts including Don Rondo, Lillian Briggs, Marty Brill, Sunny Gale. Frankie Lymon and Lynn Cornell. The file contains a list of all represented artists as well as publicity materials for Nejla Ates and Frankie Lymon. Harry Lawrence Artists Representative The file contains a 3/7/1963 letter from Harry Lawrence to Jo Ann McLaughlin transmitting publicity materials for singer Linda Bishop. The letter also references other acts managed by Mr. Lawrence including The Vikings (doing a second act as The Memory Lane Quartet), Phyllis Arick, Shir-Mee May, Larry Leung and his East Goes West Review, Bill Seiden and E. Nell Webster. Jolly Joyce Theatricals The file contains miscellaneous publicity materials for groups available for booking through Jolly Joyce including Bill Haley and His Comets, Kiddy Kelly, Jay Kirk and The Quaker City Boys. Jack Segal Enterprises The file contains a lists of acts plus newspaper clipping for singer Sami O'Brien. Other acts in the brochure are Stan Howard, Sherry Mann, Debbie Kelley, Johnny Restivo, and Nat Norbert. Henry Stern Artist Representative The file contains a 3/18/1967 letter from Mr. Stern to Coleman-McLaughlin transmitting information on the group Sonny Allen and The Rockets. Bert Jonas Agency The file contains publicity materials for Isla, The Butterfly Girl (real name Susan Brooks) who was performing in Kansas City the week of August 12, 1963 at Starlight Theatre and staying at the Bellerive Hotel. There is also a large poster for hypnotist Lon Masterson (see Oversized File). Phil-Web Productions 12/19/1960 newspaper article sent out on Jack Eagle and Frank Man, comedians and singers. Vic Rocco Publicity for Hal Le Roy - dancer, comedian. Globe Artists, Inc. Agency president was Sid Howard. Transmitting publicity materials for The Harmonica Rascals. Music Counsellors Publicity materials sent out for David London, magician. Hemisphere Productions Flyer mailed out regarding acts available in November: Little Anthony and the Imperials, Joe Simon, The Chiffons, and Wendy Renee. Dean-Altfeld Associates The contains a1/27/1960 letter from Peter Dean to Jo Ann McLaughlin about booking the act Rosina. Miscellaneous Four letters from Jo Ann McLaughlin to four different NYC agencies inquiring about acts specifically and generally. Three letter are from 1964; one from 1962. The agencies are Colston-Leigh, Hurok, Robert T. Goss Associates,and Columbia Artists.
